It had not rained for two days but it was still too wet to drive into many places. A few folks were trying to harvest, but were getting stuck as the ground was too soft.
I decided it was a good day to do some fishing so I grabbed a 1 weight and a 5 weight bamboo rod and headed off to a pond. I decided to hike in to one of my favorite ponds. hiking in as I want to fish one of my favorite ponds. The temperatures have been going down and the water is getting cooler so I was hoping the water temperature had gotten back to the best temperature for fish to feed.
That’s a GREAT day, Rick! The description sounds like the first pond you took us to…is that the one?
Maybe those folks were sooo excited about the fish you caught for them, they simply forgot you needed a ride?
I went fishing during lunch that same day, and fished a pond that was very clear. There were crappies ALL OVER the shallows! I missed 3 times as many as I caught…even though I only set the hook when I could see the fly disappear into their mouths.
The owner of the pond limits access to it. The only bass that can come out of the pond are from 12 to 16 inches.
Folks have to take two panfish out for every bass they keep.
A lot of panfish are taken out ever year in this fertile pond.
