let me know…
What’s proper…
Kathy is a valued member here wouldn’t that be undercutting her???
:lol:
Joel23;
Yes, but I want Back!! Just send me your snail mail addy.
I have lost two rod building video’s because of being too trusting and poor recording keeping!!
I’ll also gladly share my other formulas with you and tip’s on building the board.
sounds great jack…I’ll get it back to you shortly…I’ll email you my address…
This is interesting :lol: Back to you later… :arrow:
Duckster;
Kathy is a personal friend fo mine and will not worry about someone stealing her method. Her Goal is to share with us all.
OK Jack…
You may want to contact Joel with your addy…he sent the email to me…
JC…It is a little confusing what applies to whom…
PS…Jack I was not thinking of stealing the method …but that maybe she would rather sell a DVD…she must have expenses…
Gee Jack, being a good friend of Kats I would think you would have suggested he purchase one from her…lol…Stung twice and you are still chancing it. What a guy!
I would hope that if you find VALUE in the video that you go purchase the DVD. I’m sure she has put some time, effort and $$$ to make this knowledge available on media. There are many ways to catch a mouse but you’ve got to properly compensate the person that gives you the mouse trap that works.
:o I sure don’t want to start a range war here, but it seems to me, several months ago, DVD’s were being passed around here like hot cakes. I could be wrong on this but I believe it was Jack that offered to hold the library of DVD’s for anyone that wanted to borrow them.
Does this thread apply to “ALL” DVD’S and other published material or just this DVD?
Bring on the HIT’S, I have broad shoulders.
Dave & Kathy are in Colorado right now and will not be back to Miane untill mid August, lucky! So I know she won’t mind my loaning my copy to help someone get started.
Like the Rod Building videos once you’ve gotten started they will just gather dust on the shelf. As ohiotuber would say “This site is about sharing!”
Better yet. Send me our snail mail addy and I’ll send you a 6’ 6" furled leader to try first.
Some notes on furled leaders.
You can cast a furled leader if properly built and it will turn over a 4-5 foot tippit nicely!!
It takes about 18 yds. of line to make a 6’ 6" leader
I’ve found that UNI 6/0 thread works the best for thread leaders. You can get about 10 out of a 200 yard spool.
Berkly 2 lb. VANISH flourocarbon is great for sinking leaders.
The break strength of a furled leader is about 3 times the strength of the single thread/line.
.005 Nylon Quilting Thread can also be used. 250 yds. for a buck fifty at Wally World.
A furled leader board can be built for under 10 bucks.
Enquiring Newbie minds want to know: ‘Whazzz up with furled leaders?’ Please fill me in, I have seen them advertised by some other in home makers. What are the advantages/disadvantages?
