Well I hadn’t seen one until I made it and it worked great. I’ll try to get a pic but it’s nothing more than a:
-small bead-head soft hackle.
More like a bead-head ‘red ***’ for those that know what that is
I’m sure it’s been made by someone, somewhere but I never saw one before. Kinda pattin’ myself on the back for ‘thinkin outside the box’.
Not my best attempt:
The reason I like it is the fact I don’t have to weight it and fumble with weights, although I guess you still can do that if you wish. It tumbles and bounces off the stream bottom nicely just the way it is.

Pat away, BBW! Innovation and imagination have a big place in fly designing/tying. It’s really satisfying to come up with an “a-ha” fly, isn’t it? And if/when I catch a trout on it, well - - THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about…

Gotta love those soft hackles. Nice looking design you got there. Never thought of putting the bead forward with the hackle just behind it. Looks like theres a little dubbing ball behind the hackle to make it stand up just right. Way to go. I’m sure I’m not the only one out here that will be trying there own version of your fly. Great job , give yourself that pat on the back.
