butt caps

trying a metal button as a butt cap for my 6’6" 3wt

yeah i like the reel seat a lot it is the same dimensions as the rec plrn when i get a lathe i’m gonna make a lit of reel seats that size they’re the best for 2-4wt rods

the only problem is finding rings for it

yep thats a hobbs creek was contemplating a ross reel for this rod but i’ve heard many good things about thses and filled it with backing and line for the price of the ross

Yes nice reel seat cap. I did something similar years ago, when I built my Gatti. I had a Lapidarian, make me a reel seat cap, from “Lake Superior Agate”! Looked wonderful on the fly rod.

oh my is it coming out sweet
forecast 6’6" 2wt blank gonna overline it to 3wt
blue wraps with olive trim
