The other day my fly rod got crushed by a window dont ask its a long story any ways my cork split in to but its still on my rod when i cast i can feel it moving but its only the cork how should i fix this??
If I understand the problem correctly, the best thing to do would be to replace the cork,
Bust it all off, remove the guides, fit a new grip in place, rewrap the guides.
Or
I’m tough on my heavy weight rod grips, so I’ve repaired quite a few by just carefully gluing everything back together with epoxy.
I have one rod with the tape you use on baseball bat grips over the cork, I kinda like it that way

Can you get over to Washougal? Kerry Burkheimer can help. Fine rod maker, or call him.
It seems to me that you could slice the cork with a razor blade lengthwize on both opposite sides , and remove the loose section . Then just re - glue them with epoxy .
Life is like a fly swap…You never know what your going to get.
well those are all great ideas, i might go to washugal, im pertty close to it, but i might try epoxying it to. if i do remover the guides, and take it off, then replace it, how would i get the guides off? i did build the rod myself, so i know how to put it back to gether.
Call Kerry and tell him I said for you to call. He is a great guy and I bet he will want to meet you…
Carefully cut the wraps on top of the guide feet, protecting the blank. The wraps should then peel off.
