My wife and I are going to Bonaire in either July or August for some scuba diving and I also plan to do some fly fishing for Bonefish, Permit and whatever else there is. I contacted one guide who says you can’t buy flies on Bonaire but he won’t tell me what flies I should bring. Anybody have suggestions about flies and even better maybe a guide?

Gerry, never fished there but i would think that the same flies that would work elsewhere (crazy charlies,et al) would work. i did go on a diving vacation there a while back and had an absolute blast! you’re gonna love it. let us know how you make out.
I have been on Bonaire, Curacao and Aruba. I do not know any guides there. My local contacts in Aruba and Curacao tell me fishing those waters is difficult. They say the water drops quickly and the prevailing currents are swift. I would check on the internet to see if Fly Fishing is even possibls. Most of thr time there is a wind that will make you stop walking. The trees are all sideways.
