Blackberry games/apps?

Have any apps or games you like?

I’m certainly not “into” this kind of stuff but I enjoy a good app.

I’ve used NRange GPS for golf, flashlight, Scoremoblie, Battleship, Pirates, Labyrinth, Quick Pull and a few others.

How about you?

THN (Hockey news)
Flash Light has come in handy.
AP News when I’m bored in a meeting.

Outside of that… Facebook, but I don’t really consider that an app.

Quickpull lite is finally working on the new version, so I have that installed again. Really nice to have when the phone starts to misbehave.

I have it set to do a ‘pull’ every night. Mine never acts up any more. I still do a real battery pull about once a week though. (Blackberry Storm).

One word of caution. Don’t download the “themes”. I now have a glitch to where every time I download Blackberry Appworld the themes come back and when I delete them it deletes Blackberry Appworld. Kind of annoying, but doesn’t affect the phone functions any.

I do not have a BB anymore but I have found some good Apps for my iPhone. There is a cool app called “Hatch.” It is great little pocket resource for fly/bug info.

For the most part I just use info apps but the one game I do play is my “HorseShoes” App.

I can throw some mean shoes, both in the digital world and in real life…

Oops… I forgot one app I use very regularly when I am in cell range while fishing…

Google Maps. There is a small Public Access near a small town, I use that map to make sure I don’t go “out of bounds”.

The iPhone isn’t an option here, as AT&T hasn’t realized Wyoming (and from looking at their coverage map… most of the Rocky Mountain North) is part of the USA.

In all honesty, your not that bad off. The iPhone is a very cool device, without a doubt, but the BB is still an awesome machine.

I am an AT&T user openly admitting that Verizon does have a ton more coverage, without a doubt.

I used to have both when I was working in Aviation, and still have the BB but discontinued the service. Having both phones was awesome. I would use the iPhone until I lost service then grab the BB and boot it up and have good service…

Telenav is a great turn by turn GPS program for the BlackBerry, also use quickpull. Also use the fox news “app”. The bolt browser is better than the packaged BB browser.

I’m on my Blackberry right now. Love it! Had an iPhone and returned it. AT&T’s coverage stinks here too.

I guess the ones I use most are:

  • The Weathernetwork
  • ProOnGo Expenses
  • Time Mobile
  • Quick pull
  • Facebook

on a Curve 8520.

I would have gotten an Iphone, except I have trouble typing well (I have an IPod touch) and the Iphone seems to have trouble with my contacts list ('casue there are 3500 contacts in it).

I use a to-do list a LOT… this one is a pretty cool “cloud” application. For the BB its “TaskJot” and on the web it uses/syncs with “Toodledo”.

I have an iPhone and it works well in Wyoming and all along the route getting there from llinois. BUT, i’ve never had a BB so I can’t comment on comparing coverage. IPhone apps are cool too but I don’t do games only the “serious” stuff

PS: iPhones however, cannot withstand a rolling truck tire. Don’t ask.

Yeah travelling through you have cell coverage and first gen data transfer (Edge). However, since they aren’t a provider in most of Wyoming (they have pockets in Casper, Cheyenne, and Jackson) if you got a phone, but lived in say Riverton, they can cancel your contract, and then force you to pay the termination fees for using the phone out of their coverage area primarily.

Oh well. It’s better than Sprint here! Sprint/Nextel phones are paper weights unless you are in Jackson.
