I finally managed to make it out to my local trout stream and get in an hour of fishing in between classes. Caught 3 ~12" rainbows, lost about a half dozen more including one brown that looked to be about 18". Caught them all on a #20 bubble back midge.

Only managed one pic, the other two were camera shy

A gentleman from the local newspaper stopped and snapped a picture of me. He was amazed that I was out fishing when it was below freezing and snowing.

I could have sworn Betty says there are no trout in that area

While they can be difficult at times, there are most certainly trout in the Hills.

Here’s a pic from the bridge near where I was fishing. Its not the greatest pic but there’s quite a few trout right there.

Sorry, Big Dan, you fell into one of our “inside jokes”. No doubt you’ll hear more about no trout in the black hills…

I wondered if that was what was going on.

So are there Black Hills anglers that regularly post on the FAOL BB? That would be neat.
