Hi all,
Doctor confirmed that our boy Gary does indeed have thyroid cancer. He is not a specialist so he didn’t know what type but he believes it to be early stage Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. That is the most common and most easily cured version. We are praying that this is what Gary has. We go to the endocrinologist on Monday so we should know for certain then.
As promised before I will keep you all up to date as soon as I know anything further.
Eric please tell Gary that he is in our thoughts and prayers are being said for him even thousands of miles away in another hemisphere!
All the best.
Mike
Praying for your son, your family, and the medical staff in attendence! A co-worker friend of mine’s 15 yr old son was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer two years ago. Not sure what kind but his wife had the same kind in her 40’s. Anyway, both have had their thyroids removed and both are cancer free and fully recovered. Hope that is encouraging! Medicine has come a long way in treating such ailments, and cancers are becoming more treatable each day. Remember to encourage your son daily with a show of faith and love.
Very sorry to hear that, my family will pray for yours. Kepp positive. I worked in a hospital for 17 yrs and had a small part in the treatment of thyroid cancer. I saw a very high percentage, i would say about 80%, of patients cured. treatment consists of a total thyroidectomy followed by thyroid ablation with iodine-131 radioiodine treatment.
