They seem to be less than reliable in meeting their publication dates…

I agree, I gave up on them a while ago. For the price I paid for a subscription, I guess I expected better service.

Come on guys…This is ART. Artists always work at their own speed. Besides, half the fun is not always knowing when it’s coming and it’s always a big surprise when it arrives. Also note that your subscription is for a number of issues - not for a specific period of time.

I disagree, a magazine subscription is no different than any other service I pay for. I consider it a contract and they state they are going to produce the product by a certain time. I expect to have it then.
There is some very fine magazines out there that produce a good product in the time frame they specify.
I agree it is a fine publication, but there are other factors involved that makes for a happy customer, and in my case, they just didn’t deliver.
Considering the timeline this particular Journal is published on, I personally hunt down a copy soon after it goes to press. I gladly pay the up-charge for the single copy price.
