Is there any way to do a search on the member of FAOL to see where they are from? I know of a few people from around my area but just interested is see if there is others. Down here in South Carolina there are very few of us and we need to stand untied.
Most of the members here have there general area if not the town and state they are from listed in there profile and it is also on the right side of the page across from the forum name. You are from Greenville, SC, Mine should read Rock Springs, WY. I hope this helps, it is one of the few things I can help with here!
If you do truly wish to “stand untied”, I guess it does help to know where they are so you can avoid them. 
Sorry for the jesting. It is just my low self esteem busting through. Darn, I wish I had enough self-esteem to be serious all the time. I remember a board years ago where you could activate a feature that would basically show everyone’s location (assuming they’d entered one) as a spot on a map and you could zoom in on that map, move your pointer over any given dot and see the screen name of the member represented by that dot. I assume that’s the kind of thing you’re talking about. I don’t for the life of me remember which board that was and don’t know of any such feature here. Maybe someone will tell us otherwise.
I believe if you think there are some guys in your area you would like to meet send them a PM. If they are agreeable, you can then swap info in private.

Best way I can think of is to post a thread titled “Are there any other South Carolina fly fishers here?”. Or “Any fly fishers in the vicinity of X interested in a gathering?”
