Aquanova fly line?

I’ve been doing some shopping for fly line for a new 8 wt. Has anyone here had any exposure to Aquanova fly line? It is man. in Canada and very inexpensive compaared to some of the top brands here. Thanks for any info.

Just found another thread on this board about this flyline. All said it was junk. Never mind.

Never paid much attention to your handle…but just worked it out today. I like it!
How often do you fish locally, San Gabriel, Bear area etc?

Just in case anyone still has doubts - I had it on a 3 wt and a 5 wt. They both cracked during the first season. I replaced them and my casting improved as well. However, they make super garden twine.

“Give me ambiguity or give me something else”

I can’t comment on the quality of the lines as I just picked one up and am going to try it out this year.

One of the earlier threads mentioned a company that sells seconds. Their website mentions the following "High quality fly lines by Northern Sport (Makes most of the private labeled fly line in North America) range from fswf4 to fswf10 - Limited quantities - Guaranteed or your money back "

The Aquanova line is manufactured by Northern Sport. If Northern Sport makes most of the private labelled lines in North America, what labels are they and are they of the same quality as the Aquanova?

One line that I just got is the Grey’s Platinum Fly line. This line casts like a dream. I am real interested to see how well it will perform in the field and how it will hold up.

NOrthern Sport is Aquanova.

Icontacted GlobalDorbeR. They guarantee the lines, so if anyone is interested you have nothing to lose. They even offered to replace the line that was crappy (I bought my lines from other vendors) and if I like it then I would buy it. Sounds like a good company to me. The gentleman who responded to me suggested that the lines I bought might have been seconds or factory rejects. That just might be. I think I will try the line again.

Folks, I have been pushing Global doRbeR for a long time simply because they are one of the best companies I’ve ever done business with. They want NO dissatisfied customers out there, none, not even one. And I have no affiliation with them other than the satisfaction of doing business with them several times.

Help me out there RG . I’ve noticed before the word? letters, acronym? “doRbeR.” But only on here. Am I just not computer savy… is it some shortcut like using B4 for the word ‘before’? Or is it a ToysRus type of thing? Thanks.

I’ve been quite pleased with the two AquaNova lines I bought from dorbeR (read it backwards- they’re in Arkansas) a few years ago. For a measly 12 bucks they can’t be beat, IMHO. They’re not magic, they’ll probably not last forever, but they sure do a decent job of delivering a fly to a specific spot and mine float well. If you are one of those folks who worry about line color, they may present a bit of a problem. The bright, nearly fluorescent chartreuse color may seem obtrusive. But the fish don’t seem to mind a bit.

Name indicates where I fish and for what I fish.

Isn’t the bottom side of all floating lines dark when floating on the water and viewed from below?

Wdnesday caster, I like to go up to the East fork of the San Gabriel when I can, but I usually try to go to the Sierras. I have some friends on goldenstatetrout.com that recently introduced me to the Kern river. Boy is that a nice fishery. BTW my wife goes by grdnr4Him.

mantis,
The reason that they spell it dorbeR is because they used to be called Rebrod. Dorber is rebrod spelled backwards.

I like it and use it, I suppose the price may scare some, maybe not the best but certainly worth the price and that sir is a certainty,
