Anyone contemplating a swap for trout flies? As usual, I’m late to the party… I just discovered this section, and all the swaps have either ended or long since been in progress.
And while we’re at it, are swaps just for the old pros? I’ve been at the fly bench for about a year, and I’m not a million dollar tyer, but I love it and would love to see what others are up to.

I’ve been tying for over 35 yrs. but I am NO PRO! I welcome any tier that wants to have some fun and maybe expand their horizons a bit to my swaps. I suggest you keep an eye out - there are usually 1-3 swaps per month - just check each week or so. I’ve also had the pleasure of joining swaps on this site. As long as you get the flies in on time and keep the comunications open between you and the swapmeister I’d be surprised if you were not welcome to any open swap.
Also, feel free to start a swap as a swapmeister. Take a look at the sticky note by Bassman at the head of this forum to get an excellent idea on your responsabilities as either a tier or swapmeister. Feel free to PM me if you have questions on meistering a swap I’d be happy to give you any pointers.
Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I did read the sticky, and that’s part of what made me so enthusiastic about the swap. I’m going to participate in a swap first, but I think it would be great to start one, too! I have a couple of ideas, so I can’t wait to start. Thanks again!
