Just registered and popped on the boards to say hello, found the site whilst surfing around to see if my daughter could get me a Sage rod when she goes on holiday to the US.
My name is Andy and I live and fish in the North of England, looking forward to some chat and learning a thing or two off you guys. My biggest claim to fame in the fishing world is being a good friend to Charles Jardine.
Great to have you with us! The “boys” will be especially thrilled, as in your reply to Donald, you mentioned that you work for a brewery! Watch 'em though. They’re pirates.
Hello LS…with your connections to the brewery you’ll soon find you have a lot of friends here!! You’ll also need some patience with us Yanks that just cant spell color, liter, miter, etc. correctly. Another thing, these guys think a “pint” is something that one puts in his hip pocket to nip at now and then on a frosty afternoon out in the wilds.
We need your kind education to turn us savages into parlo(u)r people.
Welcome
Snow on the roof but with fire still in the hearth
Thanks for the fantastic welcome to FAOL boards from all of you.
Sorry to dissapoint you guys and girls, I wish I worked in Thwaites Brewery, only thing I do is drink the stuff in great quantities…
I actually repair Ambulance vehicles for my day job, (Service Manager) and have the odd pint of Thwaites best bitter as and when I can. What I was saying on the thread about the horses is that the brewery have them and they exercise them around the town on a regular basis.
Well…that may well be…but it did get some attention!! Did make me think of the Budweiser brewery in Saint Louis with their beautiful Clydsdales. They really dress them to the nines for any appearances.
Welcome! My dad is currently is learning to fly fishing and living in the UK and the only thing I can really think of to say about it is that, it is quite probably more economical to fly over here for vacation to learn how to fly fish than it is in your neck of the woods!
