I’m looking for a recipe or other insights into the Angora Mantis Shrimp pattern. I’m doing a Mexico flats trip this Winter and want to do some for the trip . I know how to do Veverka’s Mantis and others, but this one looks like quite a departure from those . Obviously, Angora Goat for the legs, but what’s that wrapped around the body? There is a photo here:

Thanks.

Have you tried youtube ? or perhaps just google it ?
Eric:
Oddly enough, found the pattern here but without the rib: https://books.google.com/books?id=BO_jBAAAQBAJ&pg=PT179&lpg=PT179&dq=angora+mantis+shrimp+fly+pattern&source=bl&ots=YstA1Uk79o&sig=rHv6jWoexYySV1D51HNkGDxEvB4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjFqKaO443dAhW3ITQIHfVxD2AQ6AEwFXoECAsQAQ#v=onepage&q=angora mantis shrimp fly pattern&f=false.
Segmentation in the ‘original’ was done with a brown magic marker it seems. Hard to tell from the photo, but I would hazard a guess that the rib is either D-Rib or more likely a brownish monofilament like chameleon Maxima (15-20#?). Superfloss I imagine would be a decent substitute as well.
Thanks! Just what I needed.
