Headed out to a pond to fish from shore. We had just over 6 inches of rain in two days and did not want to try to drive into any ponds. We have puddles in our yard for the first time in three years.
Got to the pond and the water is very muddy, but it is time to fish. I can only see down about 2 inches in the water.
Cast out and keep the fly up in the water column, hoping the fish will be looking up and take the fly. It is a great theory that does not work out. I change flies several times and this does not help.
End up fishing for about 2.5 hours. End up catching 5 little gills that were about 2.5 inches long. Got one crappie that was about 7 inches long.
Did not get many fish but had fun being on the water. Hope you are having more success than I am.
Hope you can get out on the water.
