Size 18 Adams: What are your thoughts? I don’t do a lot of dry flies.

There are some who would claim the wings are too narrow – a consequence of modern hackle tips being narrow – and to use hen hackle for the wings – but it won’t make a bit of difference to the fish. I actually prefer the narrower wings.
Well proportioned for someone who claims to not tie a lot of dries.

Just a note…if you’re looking for good hen necks for dry fly winging? I saw some of the most usable hen hackles at the Keough booth in the Somerset show last week. Picked up one of the nicest Furnace hen sets I’ve seen in some time.
Norman - The tail is just grizzly. The wrapped hackle is light ginger and grizzly.

redietz - I kind of feel that the wings are too narrow but it is the only materials I have to work with and I am pretty sure the fish wont care too much.
NJTroutbum - Thanks for the tip on the Keough hens. I will keep my eye out for them.
Maybe a little on the Bushy side, but I like mine that way. They hold up better in fast water.

gigmaster - That was my thought. Mos of the streams I fish are pretty quick and rough.
Its a mirical you can see that small, I stop tying at size 14 hooks 
I’m with Gig…I just replenished my Adams supply today in between snow shoveling sessions, and 14’s are hard enough for me. I tie 16’s, too, but they are a lot more difficult. If I could tie an 18 that looked like yours, I’d be very happy indeed, but I have old eyes and fat fingers. 
wtg…that is my ALL TIME go to dry fly…my fav. streams, cutts & I trim em off on the bottom…awesome fly…for me…keep tying
