A Steady Cleansing Rain

About three months ago I made a comment to an acquaintance about trout fishing being so important to me and he dismissed it. He said trout fishing was the least important thing he does in life and I shouldn’t make it so important. I wholeheartedly disagree with him.

Many people go to church to feel spiritual and be in touch with the universe. I go into the outdoors to cleanse my soul. All the things in life that bother me are melted away about a hundred yards from the truck. The fish are only a bonus in the whole scheme of things.

Thank you for this post. Three years ago my wife passed away leaving me without any children or close relatives. I thought I was handling things pretty well until one day a friend took me fishing. We sat on the bank casting worms and fishing for perch in rain storm. Thanks to my friend Zeke I was able to get back with fishing and not dwell so much on the negative aspects of life.

I do believe fishing was and still is a God send.

Thanks again for your post.

spinner,I agree with that.

Nice photo of a beautiful area

Nothing so much energizes and enlightens the soul as that of being out in nature, being around trees and the forest, especially if a beautiful clear water stream runs through it. Churchianity/religiosity/superstition is not even in the same league with it.
What was that old sage saying from someone long ago … “God is not the author of confusion … religion is.”

Some go to church and think about fishing and others go to the river and fish and think about God…

Some people say they enjoy “Mother Nature”, I go fishing and enjoy time with the creator of everything around me.
