A short letter to an old friend

I went fishing today Marc. The day before you left us I told you to get well, that we had Silver Lake waiting for us. The year before that, you gave me a fiberglass Fenwick fly rod and a Pflueger Medalist reel. So…I took it to Silver today. I started with a Pine Squirrel Black Leech and got about 30-40 short strikes with no hookups. I switched to a gray leech that looked more like a drowned mouse and got the same short strikes. So I finally switched to a Caddis Nymph jig and started catching fish. I counted 12 or 13 fish. I’m going with a baker’s dozen. All little bitty bluegills. They were a blast, and I spent all day long thinking about you. I sure do miss you old friend. We’ll talk again…

Sorry about your loss, Lotech. But you wrote a lovely letter.
