Way to go Kevin. You do great work and should be very proud as are all of us.

That goes for me too Kevin.

Dave

Kevin,
As a Veteran,I thank you Sir.Sometimes I need to hear of good deeds.Ray

You are more than welcome, Ray. It is I who should be thanking you.

Did anyone notice that the Denver Post linked to FAOL in the story? I think that is pretty cool, too. This whole story is Jesse’s fault. He contacted the Denver Post and generated the interest for it and I can’t thank him enough.

If there were no story to be told the Denver Post would not have been interested. I am only guilty of recognizing that a pretty nice guy was doing something a little special and different than any of his peers, that I am aware of was doing. I did explain that I only know Kevin via FAOL and how it is a collection of some pretty nice people.

We appreciate the “mention” too, you just never know S

I just saw this article, and came over here to let you all know about it. Uncle Jesse beat me to it! (I suppose he might have known it was coming out ahead of time  ) Nice job giving kudos where they are deserved Jesse!

Congrats on the article Kevin!!! I hope your work inspires others, and thank you for honoring our vets! You and I still need to get over to the S. Platte below Chatty (or anywhere else) sometime and fish together!

Scott actually did a little 5 minute phone interview and I tried to tell him about the FAOL family and worldwide friendships that exist mostly with people you will never see. I have attempted to educate a couple of other groups that print articles about Mr. Proctor’s special rods, we will just have to wait and see if they take the bait. Kind of like fishing.

Love it Jesse S We just keep plugging away. Thank you!

MidCurrent Fly Fishing weekly email also picked up on it. I didn’t open that link as I have viewed the rods on FAOL already. The workmanship is outstanding though.

Great article and video interview, Kevin.

TT.

Kevin and I worked over the phone and through e-mail to get the specifications right. He was awesome to work with and I am honored that he chose my rod as the featured rod in the video and written article. I will have tears in my eyes, I’m sure when opening the case and seeing my rod for the first time and to hold it in my hands. I am going to some of the local fishing stores in the area with my rod to see if there is any bites and hopefully they will allow a display of a couple rods and take orders foe a small fee. I think he has a couple orders already and possibly a couple more. As I told Kevin, I think he found his calling in life. It was an honor for me to have dealt with him and an even more of an honor to fish with this rod.

Thanks again Kevin, I can not say that enough!

Oh. And thanks to Jesse for making this all possible. You da man!

Received my rod today. I had to pick it up at the PO. When I got home, I opened it up, my heart was pounding in anticipation, hands shaking. I opened up the shipping tube, pulled out packaging and finally reached the cordura rod tube with Colorado Custom Fly Rods embriodered on it. I then proceeded to unzip the case and the first thing I saw was the US Army emblem on the butt plate. Then I noticed how small it was. I pulled it out and was totally amazed at the workmanship. This is the most petite rod I have ever owned. It is beautiful and my chest stuck out 6" with pride. My whole military history on a beautful 2wt rod. The pictures certainly don’t do it justice. To be able to hold such a peice of craftmanship is amazing. This rod will be with me until the day I die! and will then become an heirloom to be passed down from generation to generation. I know I have said this before but, working with Kevin has been a pleasure and I can’t say enough about his worksmanship. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you Kevin. I will treasure this rod for a lifetime
