3" Hardy St. George (1925-26) w/ optional auxiliary brake

Circa 1912-15 Dingley made Wm. Mills and Son Reel with spring return telephone latch…

Heddon 125 Reels w/ agate line guides in the older gunmetal and gray finishes

Orvis CFO II (Hardy made) circa early 1970s 2oz., 2 9/16ths diameter

Thompson 100 & Thompson 500 circa 1950’s (I believe) Design as per the Hardy Perfect.

Circa 1913 Hardy’s St. George (w/ red agate line guard) and circa 1910 Hardy’s Uniqua

Edward vom Hofe Perfection (a reel I believe deserves its name!!!)

The Lee Wulff Ultimate Reel, designed by Stan Bogdan and built by Sharpes of Aberdeen for Farlow’s circa 1969.

Hope the folks who appreciate reel art enjoy these classics.

And before you ask, no, I don’t own any of these particular reels.

Thanks for the pics. Those old reels, especially on bamboo, conjure up images of ivy caps, bent saddle pipes & tweed jackets. Not to mention a flask of your favorite libation.

The St George is now my new desktop background, I do not know which I admire most, the St. George Reel or the reel seat it is attached to.

I also sent pictures to James Clark in the U.K., I know he would love seeing your beautiful photos, because his family was in the fly fishing equipment selling business in Norhtern Ireland.

The rod is by Mike Clark of South Creek Ltd. in Lyons, Colorado.
He is one of the premier bamboo rod makers working today.
A testament to his work is that he is currently not accepting orders
for new rods as he has a backlog of approximately 4 to 5 years!

The combination of his rod and the St. George is probably the most striking combination I’ve ever seen!
