I took the kayak out yesterday morning and caught a few bass and bluegill. I left the kayak on top the SUV and headed back out in the afternoon and took a few more bass. I caught one decent one in the afternoon. I used poppers the whole time and both came back completely banged up. I did cast them into some cement while trying to fish under a bridge so that didn’t help anything.
Very nice video,was quite entertaining. Ive been out a few times over the past couple weeks and haven’t been doing that well. Water is extremely warm and weedy. Went out to lake st Clair off Brandenburg park and nearly got swamped by 1-1.5 waves. Back end and some of the yak filled up with water. Managed a couple nice largemouth but had to work for them. Found them in big weed beds next to deeper water. Clouser made of polar fiber fished 4’ below the surface did the trick.
Did a little better walking a small river by my house using beetle Patterson. Nice to get them on surface patterns. It’s been a slow popper season with everything coming from below and near the bottom.
