A "Big Eye" Hook

Hi,

I have been ordering the Orvis “Big Eye” hooks for flies in sizes 16 and 18. Nothing more frustrating out on the stream having difficulty tying that fly on while trout are rising!
Anyway, I thought this small BWO (CDC wings and snowshoe body) show the advantage to the large eye?

The big eye hooks sold by Orvis are Daiichi 1110 hooks. You can buy the Daiichi hooks in packages of 100. The last I knew, Orvis only sold 25 packs. Just a heads up to save you some money on the hooks.

Thanks biot. Yes, I bought the 25 hook packs. Little pricey! Will look into the 1110 hooks.

I love the big eye hook. As someone whos eyesight is getting pretty bad, I’ll have to try those
