This is a Sevier Tiger Eye 8’6" 5wt 2pc. Wood seat set it A5 hardware to match the whole brown/tan color theme of the rod. Grip is rev half wells with brown burl cork, two rings of Aransas, two 1/4" burnt and two 1/4" rubberized cork. Inserted Amtack stripper, SF guides, Med brown wraps(CP’ed) with tan/creme colored trim bands.
Steve, that is a good looking fishing tool! I really like the grip, and the color scheme. The lighting in your box is even and shows the grip and seat well, but it doesn’t show the depth of color of the wraps and blank. What kind of CP are you using, and how many applications?
Thanks Greg. You don’t really get a lot of depth on Cp’ed wraps so it wont show that. I use Flex Coat CP…never more than one coat for me. I know some guys do two-three coats but I have always though that was a bit pointless because CP seals the wrap in one coat so any added coats after that are not going to soak in anymore than the first coat. So I do one heavy coat, let it sit for about 2 minutes, and then take a clean/dry brush and wipe off any excess that is still sitting on the wrap after 2 mins of soak time.
Your box is working well, almost too well, Steve. I liked the results of just the two overhead lights better than with all 4. You are a bit over-exposed with 4. Maybe not over-exposed, but you are sure eliminating all shadow.
