The phone was ringing this morning way before I wanted to wake up. I thought to myself: ?Sunday morning and it is barely light out?. it has to be an emergency or one of the fools I fish with wanting to brag about a big trout they caught.?

I rolled over and let the answering machine answer it.

I checked the answering machine after I got up. It wasn?t a fool but it was a friend wanting to brag about his personal best brown trout.

He sent me a photo.

How big do you think Mark?s GIANT small stream brown is?

Should he have woke me up at 6:50 am on a Sunday morning to give me the news?

have never seen a Minnesota small stream trout release photo that looks like this.

The thing looks like a muskie.

Derek…a friend of a friend went out with my buddy Dan Braun this morning.

This monster male brown was caught on a 4 weight rod Sunday morning when I was sleeping also.

This is a driftless area Wisconsin Brown.

I caught a 2’ brown, in 6" increments. My daughter’s considering grad school in WI; fingers are crossed.
