5 weight Shootout results in
Love the looks of the Scott Radian, I’ve been contemplating one for a while. Thinking more in the lines of a 9’6", 5 wt., will try to cast one this spring. I will say I’m surprised the Sage Accel did not score better. I love the cork handle on my 9’ 4 wt…

It is fun to read but it is tough for me to take much from his shootout. I know from my experience that changing to a different line could make a dud cast great or the reverse. I have gone to shows in the past and casted as many rods as possible and felt much different about his results.

For years I have enjoyed The 5 wt Shootouts. I don’t always agree on the assessments they have on some of the rods I either own or use, but an interesting and informative analysis all the same.
