Hugo was born and raised in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa where he was first introduced to fly fishing.  Two years after immigrating to America with his family in 1985, he started fly fishing the lakes of Minnesota and Missouri at age 14.  Hugo has since enjoyed fly fishing in salt and fresh water around the world.  He now divides his time between practicing chiropractic in Havre, Montana, fly fishing, fly tying, hunting, and writing.
