Blending Dubbing
By Gary Melow

Getting a good blend of dubbing for custom colors can be difficult – unless you harness the power of water!

Put your various dubbings or whatever you're blending into a water tight container half full of water, seal, then shake, shake, shake! The water suspends all the individual hairs and particles. Then simply strain through a sieve or piece of window screen, allow your new custom-blended dubbing to dry, fluff and package.

I find this technique great for blending dissimilar materials, such as squirrel hair and bits of light bright or even crystal flash. ~ Gary Melow
