Christmas time is the time of plenty for
the fly tier. Loads of neat FREE tying
material everywhere - some probably
on your living room floor Christmas
morning.
Scrounge Time!
Take a good look at Christmas wrapping paper,
ribbons and the tinsel on the tree. The day
after Christmas, hit the local discount stores
for the big sales on gift wraps and decorations
as well - for fly tying uses!
Many of the gift wraps and ribbons are a mylar
material, perfect for nymph bodies and wing cases.
There are thin sheets of white or clear materials
suitable or winging as well. Take your critical
tying eye and go scrounging. ~ Deanna Birkholm
