Individual taste in books varies as much as the favorite rod or fly. With that in mind, we hope to review books and videos from the ever-growing fly fishing world, and share them with you. Books will be the best of all worlds, new and old. Many of the old books are now available in reprint, and the wisdom contained is timely today. Others can be found in second-hand book stores, or by mail order dealers. As we find videos we feel are outstanding they will be included. Be assured, reviews are based on what we have actually read or viewed, and due to that fact, may not appear weekly.

AN ANGLER'S ANTHOLOGY

This volume will only by found on the shelves of dealers of out-of-print-angling books. The information provided will put you on the trail and you should be able to obtain a copy costing from $25.00 to $40.00 and trust me it is worth the cost.

The contributing authors of this volume is a very impressive list including Izzak Walton, Washington Irving, Grover Cleveland, William Senior, Roderick L. Haig-Brown, William Scrope and John J. Audubon to name a few.

This is not a pure fly fishing volume but is a collection of essays dealing with angling and is most enjoyable to read. Eugene Burns was masterful in bringing foward the works of all these truly remarkable writers that span the centuries of angling history.

As a side note, some of you may know the name Eugene Burns as he published Advanced Fly Fishing in 1953 and Fresh and Saltwater Spinning in 1952 and before that he published Then There Was One: The U.S.S. Enterprise and the First Year of War in 1944. Eugene was a war correspondent and a member of the greatest generation who untimely death at age 52 on the streets of Baghdad, Iraq in August 1957 while working as a correspondent robbed us of future offerings from this gifted writer and editor.

This volume will entertain and inform you in many different ways and will enrich your angling life.
