Anyone going to the Festival this year? If things work out wife and I will be going. I’ll be wearing my FAOL cap. I’d like to meet other FAOL’s.

Rats I work weekends and have had to use most of my leave for illness! I live so darned clsoe too.
Unless something unexpected pops up, I’ll be there. My “MO” is that I make enough peanut butter fudge so I can take along a pound box for every FAOLer I know will be there. The one year, I believe there were 4 or 5 plus I always take extra for Grubb’s In laws. That’s one PB fudge lovin’ Family!!!

I took a vacation day to be able to attend on Saturday with my son. Leaving after work on Friday and driving to his house in Chantilly, Va. Sure would be nice to win that grand prize, huh?

Started this thread with the hopes of meeting fellow FAOL’rs. As luck would have it we found a bad leak in the roof and have to shingle the whole roof. The job wont get done in time for the festival. Sounds like this will be a good FAOL gathering. At least the thread let everyone know that Mike is bringing PB fudge!!!
PB fudge makes everything better. Sorry about your roof. I am assuming that you doing it yourself, possibly with the help of friends? It is ashame you won’t be done by the festival. I would have liked to meet you.
Sorry bout your roof Donat, I had actually planned on making sure to spend time fishing with you this year at the festival, I missed out on that last time… Newtyer, yeah Donat and his wife are good folks, and so are the rest of the folks coming, hope I get a chance to meet you as well…

Trying to get caught up on all my yardwork so I can attend.
Is there a fishing trip planned? I just built a bamboo fly rod a couple of weeks ago and need to break it in.

The festival is adjacent to the South River and it has been stocked. Watched a fellow last year land a 18-20" brown on bamboo. Most everyone at the festival lined the bank and watched the fight. A loud cheer went up when it was landed. Several people fished the river last year. So, bring a rod. Didn’t seem to be too crowded.
Don’t know about any planned trips away from the festival. For me, I have an hour plus trip just to get there. Won’t be spending the night in Waynesboro but I will be coming in both days.

That should work. As far as travelling, it’s 2 1/2 hours for me so wasn’t planning on straying far from the festival.
