UV Resistant and Non-Yellowing Epoxy

Many of us use epoxy in fly tying and rod building. There is a company by the name of Starbond. Most notably, they are known for their CA glue that’s used in the wood turning community. They offer various viscosities and large volume bottles. I like the medium thin formula for fly tying.

I’m digressing… Starbond also offers a 5-Minute Epoxy that is flexible-toughened, UV-resistant and non-yellowing. I feel these three qualities would be an asset to fly tiers. This is not a rod building thread coating product.

Thanks!

Kind of down the same path, I use a super thin CA glue used for pool cue making on a lot of my streamers.

It’s perfect for when you need the clue to wick into all the materials at a given point on a fly. It’s amazing for synthetics.

…bit that’s also a negative if you’re not careful.

They offer a medium viscosity as well.

Cool thing: This stuff lasts forever in the bottles. The one I’m using now is at least four years old.
