thanks to all who replied to my note about sulpher emergers. I have been tying @ 20 yrs and have a few patterns I have developed but always want to try something different or try to modify a pattern . I like to tinker with patterns to get a different method of tying or such. I tie a lot of emergers with biots and elk hair and ice dubbing. one appeared a couple of yrs ago in a fly fishing magazine so I try to tinker with patterns to get easier or diff ways of tying a fly. I tie a humpy a different way that is very simple using antron for wings. can tie a humpy in half the time as conventional method. I just like to fool around at the vise and try something different. that is why I find this site helpful and interesting.

Bill,
Not sure what type of sulphur pattern you plan on using on the SOHO but I fish there as often as I can. My favorite sulphur pattern is a comparadun tied with natural cdc. I usually use a biot, and CDL for the tail, and sulphur orange dubbing for the thorax. This time of year the sulphurs are primarily yellow, at least they were 10 days ago. Sometimes they will have more of an orange color , other times a very pale color. You may also want to take some small BWO’s with you. Good luck. I may be fishing there on Friday and Saturday.

thanks for info. I tie an emerger with tail of partridge, body of biot and a wing of ice dubbing with a few fibers of elk hair tied sparce then a flat head of elk trimmed flat on bottom and rounded like a mudldler. I use it foe BWO but will tie in sulphur for the S holston and Watauga. used for Bwo on the cumberland.
Welcome to the board Bill. You picked a great place to hang out.
