what wed site or catalog do you think is the best place to buy fly fishing stuff?

Hmmmm, well… considering I have something like 109 places “bookmarked”, on my pooter, that are just places to buy gear, (I have a lot more, saved, for fly tying, forums, etc.), and if I had to narrow the “shopping bookmarks down”, I guess I’d reduce it to:
Hook & Hackle
Feather Craft
Madison River
The Fly Shop
and Dan Bailey’s.
But, there’s so MANY out there, on the electric highway, it’s impossible to not want to shop them all!!
Another, that’d be hard to do without, is “Fly Shop Closeouts dot com”.

I kind of like little river outfitters in Townsend Tennessee (www.littleriveroutfitters.com). I’m not affilliated with them, just a happy customer.

You can spend hours viewing the sites of FAOL Sponsors. They come highly recommended by the site ownership and many happy customers right here.

I always try to support my local fly shop first and then the sponsors of FAOL second. But I do shop around to get materials I can’t always find from these two sources. 8T :lol:

I prefer to support my local flyshop but there is a very limited one 55 miles away from my house. Bob Marriott’s Flyfishing Store is 75 miles away but it is the world’s biggest adult “candy” store. So I usually support the flyshop of the waters I’m fishing. On the Kern River their’s the Kern River Troutfitters, on the Owen’s River and Bishop area their’s Brock’s Fly-Fishing Specialists, and on Hot Creek and Mammoth Lakes area their’s the Troutfitter’s Fly-shop. Just my $0.02 worth. Good-luck!
