I am thinking about purchasing a Renzetti Presentation 4000 or Master Vise. I would like input from owners of these vises. Do you think the master is worth the extra money over the 4000? Thanks.

I had the Masters. Sold it. Bought a jvice and really love it!!
I have tied on the master for the past 15 years. Probably 300 doz a year and have never had a problem. Very happy with it, would never consider another.
Personally I don’t think you can ever do better than the Master… I don’t have one, I only have a Traveler, however I’ve used the Master and it is one great vise.
Have tied on a Master, and prefer my 4000. Prefer the more simple design. YMMV.
I “only” have one, too
It’d be interesting to see if there’s much difference with a high-end Renzetti; may have to bum my neighbor’s just curiosity’s sake.

Scott
I have been tying on a presentation 4000 for over 7 years now. I never had a problem and I really love the vice. I never tied on a Master but I feel that I don’t need more than what I have. I tied over 3000s flies over the years from size 30 to 0/3.

I have used a Master since the early 1990’s excellent investment considering the many hours of tying.

I have not tied on either, although I do have two rotary vises by other manufacturers. The main difference I see between the Renzettis is the Master allows you to change the angle of the jaws. How important is this to you?
Greg has a point, if you tie a lot of parachutes as I do you may want to be able to adjust the head angle.

So, what are your conclusions?
I purchased a special edition master vise for 25% off, so my Traveler vise will now be utilized only for traveling purposes. Thanks for everyone’s input.

nice, enjoy
