why cant we log in with our user name and password?
How do I log out?
I do not want to stay connected
Click on the icon,(I have an R, you probably have your picture) in the upper right hand corner. Go down to the bottom to the person icon and click on it. There is a log out option.

Click on your avatar… lots of menu options.
bottom one will bring up Log Out
By the way that Preferences Link is where you can change to a photo avatar.
Of course if you have Gravatar set up (don’t worry if you don’t know what that is…) for your primary email it will auto grab that avatar. (Gravatar sets up so you can have the same avatar for most modern sites theses days… Not needed but kinda handy and cool)

By the way if you have screen clipping software you can paste images into topics with standard copy / paste…
LOTS of better functionality with discourse over vBulletin.
That and I didn’t have to spend several hundred dollars for an upgrade.
I might see if there are even better editors like the one for reply. Its good, but I think its missing stuff.

you should be able to try to log in and say forgot my password.
then it will email you a link
Discourse is all about making sure stuff is as secure as possible.
Once logged in we start as trust level 0 or 1
The more involved you become, and participate regularly… the higher your trust level. Up to level 4.
Its all about trying to minimize spammers and bad behavior.
Likes are important here as well. Though I have no idea how to do that.
