Flies for Northern Pike

I am going to be going on a trip to Wisconsin and was wondering what flies work for pike. I have some clousers and decievers, but I think I need something larger in length. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I’ve had lots of success with saltwater flies(6 inches to 11 inches).

Thanks. I was going to use saltwater flies. They just need to be larger.

One of the best pike flies you can use is simple a 3 to 4 inch piece of rabbit hide tied to a hook.

I tie my own flies and have tied Lefty’s deceivers , Clouser Minnows and Half and Halfs 5 to 8 inches long, Blanton’s Flashtail Whistlers. For topwater I tied Gartside Gurlers with long tails that made the fly 5 to 8 inches long too. I have purchased magnum Dahlberg Divers with either rabbit or synthetic material tails that are very long also.

I keep it pretty simple and use white deceivers with blue or olive topping and olive or purple rabbit strip leeches with matching estaz bodies with either a deer hair head or chenille head.
Pike around here aren’t too picky and these are effective and easy to tie

Try a sea Ducer. A saltwater hook, tail - 4 or 6 white saddle hackles curving out with a few strands of mylar or crystal flash, white hackle faced with red hacklewound up the hook in the manner of a bivisible. It’s simple, easy to tie, and works.

I don’t know if they’d work or not, but you might want to tie up some of these. Only longer.

I tie Rattlenake Streamers using Swaroski Crystals instead of Tunsten Beads (in all types of color combinations…favorite is Black/Red Crystal & Mottled Olive Amber Crystal…Black/Blue Crystal for Bass & such; you can especially use Red/Red Crystal for the Pike). These are deadly for Trout, Bass, Walley, Pike, Muiskie, Salmon, etc.
