Well I finally found it - tried getting it from Veniards but they haven’t offered the Fl. Hot Pink for over 20 years. Finally got some from Anglers Workshop their brand called Fly Dye. I did up a batch of Mallard Flank and they came out great
Slick dye job. Easy to see on the water for sure.
Very cool ---- or Hot!!
So did you find the Fly Dye easy to use? I’ve been meaning to try it myself.
On an unrelated note, why would you need that many hot pink mallard flank feathers? Wings?
It’s real easy to use - put the dye in the canning jar, heat your water to 150 degrees in the pan, take some out and put in jar and swirl it around, add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. When the water hits 150 pour it in the canning jar, stir and add feathers and stir them in. I let them sit for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. I wanted to heat them up again so put Saran wrap over the top poked a couple of holes and put in for 2 minutes. Took out and stirred.
Instructions called for rinsing with warm water first, then switching to cold till no color comes off them. I squeeze them in paper towel then put in a dark pillow case and in the dryer on no heat to dry them.
I do a lot as I also tie jigs
Doug, very good color and nice dying work. Will be ordering some myself. Thanks for the info on where to purchase the dye.

The Fl. Hot Pink is the only one I’ve gotten from Anglers Workshop, and with the way the color came out when I’m done with the Veniards that I have I’ll be switching over to it.
Very nice color and dye job. I’ve been real happy with some of the stuff I’ve dyed with Kool Aid but haven’t found a pink like that; will have to give the AW product a try.
Regards,
Scott
Just a note, you can get FlyDyes straight from the manufacturer, in bulk even if needed: http://www.organicdye.com/industries/fly-fishing-dyes
I had talked to customer service about changing the names, as not all the Fl. colors are listed as being Fl. After trying it I’ll definately get more!!
