Do they still make Fenwick HMG graphite fly rods? My buddy has a brand new one he bought for over $200 over 20 years ago. I cast it in my yard and what a great rod blank. I don’t even know if Fenwick still manufactuers fly rods, but I’d sure like to have one.

Fenwick HMG Fly Rods
To bad…I think it was end of 2009 Cabela’s was clearing them out for $99 bucks a pop. I wanted to buy one or two or three real bad. I was drooling but resisted because I have to many rods as it is. There has to be surplus rods out there somewhere.
Jim Green would have had a smile on his face seeing your interest in the rods. The action had some muscle in it’s day, a real workhorse, but the spilt-cane guys put the thumbs down on it and it took a while for the fast action rod to catch on.
If you want to buy a new Fenwick, looks like it’s going to be an HMX. The X standing for Xining, China.

BTW I think the Fenwick grip is a plus.
