Cortland Endurance 4 wt

I am looking for a 10ft 3 or 4 weight. Thanks to this recession thingie the budget is quite small. Have any of you guys any expericence of the above rod or Cortland Rods in general.

Thanks

I’ve tried at the local shop an Cortland endurance because I was interested in such rod.
But it’s not the rod for me. It’s a bit swabby rod, and haven’t bought it.

hopefully you’ll understand what I mean.

I have an older CL in 4 wt 7ft. Love it for small streams and close in work. This is my “light weight” rod.

Pretty slow action (compared to my Loomis rods) but that’s why I bought it. I haven’t tried any of the newer rods from Cortland though.

Thanks, i think ill give cortland a miss

I tell you what, I’ve got several Cortland rods, one of which has been my alltime favorite rod to fish in 22 years of flinging flies. All the Cortlands I have are a bit softer, but that doesn’t stop them from being a great rod. I do know that they got a really good rating last year in one of the fly fishing magazines top ten rods. I haven’t fished the Endurance rod, but I think it’s got a bit of a faster action than the rods I’ve got. I’d head up there and see if they’ll let you cast it before you make a decision.

Got to love it when a fellow from Ireland is getting suggestions and feedback from the Netherlands, Canada, and Havre MT USA !!!

I just picked up a Snowbee Diamond Rod. 10 feet for 4 weight and love it. Very smooth casting. Smooth is the only way to describe it. I’ll be using it to fish spiders. The price was very reasonable.

I also have a Global Dorber 10 foot for 4 weight on order for my wife, also for fishing spiders. The price was also very reasonable, but not sure about shipping charges to Ireland.
