boot sole inserts - what to get

I bought some gel sole inserts for my wading boots but a call to the manufacturer says that they will not last being in the water all the time.
These are Spenco Gel comfort insoles.

Anyone have experience with a brand that does survive being wet? The wading boot manufacturer recommended me trying the gel insoles.

They don’t need to be gel but they need to take up some volume inside of my wading boots?

Use the ones you bought, until they crap out on you! You might find they last just fine. A manufacturer will not tell you a product will work in conditions they do not 100% market them to be used. If they are athletic shoe insoles, or work boot insoles, they won’t tell you they are fine for wading boots.

If you put them inside your waders, they should stay dry and should last a lot longer because they won’t have sand rubbing on them.

Ted

How about getting a few sheets of closed cell foam and cut to shape?

What size?

Maybe I’m missing something, but why would they be wet? I think the manufacturer didn’t understand the application.

they would be between the wader and the boot.

The size of the boot would be a 10.

I bought the gels about 9 months ago and have forgotten about returning so I will use them until they fall apart if I can not return them. But I was hoping to locate what will survive for the next time or for the off chance that I can still return what I have.

I have used Spenco in my boots for 2 years with no problems.

Mr. Billy:

That is good news. I will be cutting those things down and using them later this summer.
