Spent several days in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas flyfishing with a buddy recently. I caught 20 species during the trip, and my buddy also caught a couple VERY special fish…all on fly! Here’s some:Smallmouth Bass (smallish ones):Shadow Bass:Carmine Shiner:Bleeding Shiner:Striped Shiner:Hornyhead Chubs, Green Sunfish (didn’t photograph)Northern Studfish:Rainbow Trout:Brook Trout:Ozark Bass:

Longear Sunfish:Warmouth:Shortnose Gar (didn’t photograph)Bowfin:Freshwater Drum:Skipjack Herring:Mooneye:White Bass:

And the super-cool fish my buddy caught on fly were:Flathead CatfishAnd a Bighead Buffalo

That is a variety of fish Dave. That Flathead Cat your friend caught was stealthy for a fly caught fish – probably put up quite a tussle. Dennis

The Flathead was super fat! It had a decent-sized Freshwater Drum partially digested, but the tail end was still sticking well out of its gullet. It wasn’t hungry, but somehow sucked in the fly anyway!

Nice bunch of fish.
