    Thanks everyone!
    Tied up another one last night. Thought it turned out just a bit better.
    It seems like 3 turns of brush on the 6mm shanks is just about right. Its a place to start, anyway.

    Very nice job! I really like this pattern. Looks like it would also work great from crappie and large bluegill.

    those are cool looking flies

    i just might have to try tying this style of flies

    question? Body material: 3/4" streamer brush, trimmed to a taper after completing the fly.

    is that a brush that you make or premade brush from a retailer?

    Dave, where did you get the 6 & 8mm spines? I couldn't fine them online.
