I am trying to develop a new pattern. I'll let you know as soon as I get a workable prototype. I want to create a crawfish pattern using only one material...Puglisi Fibers.
Stay tuned.......

OK. Here's what I came up with. Those wire dubbing brush thingys are expensive, and the brushes themselves are not cheap, either. I was wondering why you couldn't just tie in a wire loop and do it just like a normal dubbing loop. Well, you can. I modified one of Puglisi's shrimp patterns (just change the colors to orange and brown, add some claws and Presto! Instant Crawfish...). I just got back from testing one in the stream behind the house and caught 2 SM Bass in 6 casts (my stream has a lot of SM Bass in it, as well as trout a little further upstream...).
Coosa Crawfish
Hook: sz. 6 streamer
Weight: med clouser barbell
Thread: Brown 6/0 Unithread
Mouth Parts and Feelers: Orange Bucktail with a few strands of copper Krystal Flash
Eyes: large black bead-chain
Body: Wire dubbing brush made like a regular dubbing loop, with alternating sparse clumps of brown and orange Puglisi fibers cut into 1" lengths, and a few short strands of the copper Krystal Flash every so often.
Ok. Pattern is a foam popper.
Flies are in the mail.

Awesome Gig!
Let the fly be with you....
I have no idea of the name but I am sure it has been posted somewhere.
Noname Foam tube popper - but it catches bass and is easy to tie.
I will get started when I get back home.
