Here is a link to an article in FlyTyer http://www.flytyer.com/index.php?opt...id=51&Itemid=0 on Classic Bass Flies. Jwb, it took me a while to find the Wyanoke. Talk about outside comfort zones! It certainly qualifies as a classic bass pattern. Here's a link to a nice photo. http://www.classicflytying.com/index...049&hl=wyanoke.
Of course, we can't ignore Mary Orvis Maybury. She is one of the greatest of classic bass fly tiers / histroians(?). (However, her book is not free...)

Jwb brought up an important point. Some of the materials used in the original patterns are no longer available or may be illegal. Feel free to substitute as necessary.
I will attempt to do tie up some Ondawa on size 10.
Difficult choice, don't know what to do!
Let the fly be with you....
10 done, 4 to go. Bill, I realized last week that I did not send in the correct number of flies for last month, they will be included in this shipment. What a pain it is for me to tie wings.
