More info on eastcoast steel today,it seems i've spawned quite a discussion regarding same on my local forum with the PEI and NS guys all chiming in now?Anyhow, there are at least 27 rivers on PEI,mostly on the south shore that are known to have at least some steelhead. Some of those have very healthy populations and have for at least 3 decades. Not a whole lot is known about the migration routes of PEI steel, but that is about to change.Todd Dupuis with ASF is heading up a study that began last year(?)to understand more about these incredible fish, and PEI tagged steelhead have shown up on some of Quebec's Gaspe` Penninsula rivers.
