What are everyone's thoughts on possible locations for an Iowa warmwater get together? Do you prefer a large lake or multiple smaller ponds? What area of the state(central, SE, SW, NE, etc.)? Any other thoughts?
My $0.02
Since I'm coming from Kansas City, southern-ish would be more convenient---though my in-laws are in Altoona (Des Moines) so around there would be convenient too.
Also, I think many of us tend to have Canoe/Kayak float tubes, so smaller lakes and ponds may be best.
I use a 12ft canoe that doesn't track worth a darn, so I don't like to paddle excessively far.

Relatives in Ft. Dodge and Nevada, so I'd prefer central if possible but will head further south.
Ditto on smaller water, don't like to paddle my toon for miles unless I'm on a river.

Not sure what the count is at, but add another one or possible two. I will try to get Macey (a new fly fisherman and a damm good fellow) to come.
