Hybrid Sunfish

Fly-fished for 40 minutes last night. Caught at least 25 bluegills, 2 bass, and 2 hybrid sunfish. All caught on a #10 white & pink Shwapf w/ plastic beadhead.

Those hybrid sunfish sure fight hard, and are pretty fish!

Thats a lot of fish for 40 minutes of fishing time. Is this public water and if so where?

Yes, its a public pond in a city park in Urbandale, Iowa.

Here's a 9" bluegill I caught during lunch today, at a different public pond.

Dave, It's killing me that you are able to fish during your lunch hour, but I can't. There is no fishable water within a reasonable distance from my office.

Nice gills Dave, that hand slab is impressive. I like the aqua blue coloration towards the head, I see vibrant colors on the pumpkinseeds out here around this time of year. I gotta get out this week end, I am going to try to hit one of my favorite ponds
