Black Co...I hope everything clears up on the home front! I am finishing up my rods this weekend, so don't feel like you're the only one with an unfinished rod. The more I tinker with this rod, the more I wish I had gotten a spare blank. I think I am going to build another one within the next year. Fun build! Thanks Kaboom for hosting. I will post photos shortly.

black_co - I'm still varnishing the wraps on mine. With my rod dryer motor giving up the ghost last night, and being gone this weekend, I will be bringing up the rear with you. So don't sweat it.

Fini!! At long last it is done. Spent a ton of time on it and guess what... it still isn't perfect! But not to bad for $35 or so. Everything oldschool... Fenwick style grip, spigot ferrule, dipped with 3 coats of spar polyurethane (I'll let you figure out how I accomplished that... hee hee!), and a wrap pattern based after the old Wanigas and Phillipson rods. My tried and true color preserver finally let me down (not sure why) and there are some small partial bleed throughs (oh well). Spar on the wraps and then all rubbed down and polished to knock down the gloss a bit and even everything out. Before coating the wraps I took it out and cast it and thought it was a dandy 4 wt, no heavier, and could possibly carry a 3 wt, but didn't try it. I will cast it once more tomorrow after work. All in all a fun, yet time consuming build. I would gladly keep this rod for myself, but I'm sure Mr. Sherrick won't let me do that. I hope whoever gets it enjoys it. Here are the photos.
