    Default New flies

    Two flies that have been working for me: FLY Nymph and Gibby's Bead-Eye Bluegill Fly.

    FLY Nymph really produced for me on the last trip.

    Hook: White River-396 No. 8
    Thread: 8/0 Uni-Thread
    Tail: Chartreuse floss (clipped)
    Body: Tan Fuzzy Leach Yarn
    Head: 5/32 gold bead



    Gibby's Bead-Eye Bluegill Fly

    Hook: No. 14 scud
    Thread: 8/0 Uni-Thread
    Tail: Pheasnt tail
    Body: Dubbing
    Wing: Saddle hackle
    Eyes: Bead chain

    Those are both great looking flies.I bet they would work great around the brush piles.Both look simple to tie also.Thanks for sharing.

    Talking Like them both!

    Hi Steve,

    Those are both great looking flies. In fact, I cant decide which one I like better. Both should be absolutely great brim and trout producers. Do you think that mohair yarn would work as effectively as Fuzzy Leech Yarn? BTW, are you the proud inventor of those flies? Thanks for sharing. 8T

    Yes, they're my creations.

    I don't think mohair yarn will give the same effect, but you could certainly try.

    I bought the Fuzzy Leach Yarn in an Orvis shop here years ago. You might check orvis online or Google it.
